High-Performance Outdoor Wireless Solution
The MikroTik BaseBox 5 is a robust and versatile outdoor wireless device, built around the popular RB912 model. It is designed for professionals seeking a reliable, high-power 5GHz access point, backbone, or CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) solution. Encased in a durable, weatherproof enclosure, the BaseBox 5 is engineered to withstand harsh environmental conditions, with a tested ambient temperature range of -40°C to 70°C. The case can be opened with a single hand and features a cable hood for added protection against moisture.
Powerful and Expandable Hardware
At its core, the BaseBox 5 is powered by an Atheros AR9342 600 MHz CPU with 64 MB of RAM, running on the powerful RouterOS Level 4 operating system. This combination provides the flexibility to manage complex network configurations. The device includes a built-in 5GHz 802.11a/n dual-chain wireless module with a maximum data rate of 300 Mbit/s, connected to two external RP-SMA female connectors for your choice of antennas. For ultimate versatility, it also features a miniPCIe slot and a USB 2.0 port, allowing for expansion with an additional wireless card to create a dual-band device or to add a 3G/4G modem for cellular connectivity.
Connectivity and Installation
The BaseBox 5 is equipped with one Gigabit Ethernet port to take full advantage of 802.11n wireless speeds. Powering the device is simple via Passive PoE, accepting 8-30V DC input. The package is a complete solution, containing the BaseBox 5 unit, a 24V power supply, a PoE injector, a mounting loop for tower or pole installation, and a DIN rail mount.
